Lipstick

4 of the Best Lipsticks Out There....

Makeup is indeed one of the biggest problem a girl can face. Its sometimes so hard to get it right, too dull, too orange not enough coverage. The same applies when looking at what lipstick to wear. If you get the colour wrong you can end up making a huge mistake, the texture wrong your lips could dry out. There's so many to choose from so I thought that I would share 4 of my all time favourite's the ones that have stuck by me through thick and thin.

Every girl needs the classic, a red, this can create a timeless look. It can make any outfit look classic and creates an air of grace. However when choosing a red it is so hard to get it right. There's so many shades to choose from, pinks, bricks, oranges. All the differing shades are suitable for at least some skin tones so if one fails try a different shade out. Personally being pale as a sheet, blonde with blue eyes the pure reds are the correct shade for me. Therefore after searching high and low and after a fair few red lipsticks I went for the Illamasqua Matte in Howl.

My next two are Mac. As a devout user of Mac cosmetics only recently switching my alligence to the up and coming brand Illamasqua, I am still a huge fan of their lipsticks. The two that I have championed for years are the Satin in Myth. This has the technique of making your makeup look perfect the soft mushroom pink colour is however only for the select few too pale and you fail too dark and it has the effect of making you look like you have applied foundation to your lips. It creates the perfect daytime shade but can be vamped up for a night time look with a smoky eye. The second shade is a more glossy one, Luster in Romance. A limited edition it can prove hard to get hold of yet the deep purple shade comes out lighter creating a glossy look on the lips and has the effect of being more a stain than a full covering lipstick.

Thirdly is my Clinique a tired and tested favourite, now unfortunately been discontinued, it is a glossy brick red. Once again the gloss distorts the colour in the lipstick dulling it down a bit. However it holds the trials and keeps its coverage whilst giving the lips a glossy sheen.

There we are some of my favourites, obviously everyone has their own but as far as lipsticks go Mac have the greatest variety whilst being of high quality. It is also the cheapest brand of the three. So I guess if your currently on the hunt check out the Mac counter and ask for a consultation.

Musing over Cupid

Being in an unhappy going no where relationship last year, struggling through Valentines, pretending and lying defiantly didn't lead to my happy ending. It just led to my semi breakdown and post summer downfall, we all have to crumble at some point....

Therefore this year I was brave and tackled valentines as the independent single women that I currently am. To many of you this may seem like a depressing concept but for the time being i'm happy much happier in myself and am learning to love my life for me. My day was pretty perfect considering us singletons are meant to crawl into a whole and cry over our limited prospects. Thursday started in the gym new years health kick and all, it included a hot date to Nando's with no other than one of my best friends and ended with some chocolate (sod the NY health kick). This was ultimately topped off with the sage words of Carrie Bradshaw. To me that new pair of Choos, or this weeks purchase Nike Blazers defiantly will come in more handy than any man. Even all those loved up couples couldnt get my mood down because I just feel like after my last year, one day ill explain, I have come such along way.

When we all look at life I have to admit that cuddles I occasionally miss along with having a best friend but at the end of the day if ultimately and overall your not happy then the point to those things is lost. Are we meant to carry on with the bad just to endorse the good or do we take the leap and make the decisions that we know are right. As I carry on and grow up, something of which I have done a lot of recently, I have come to realise that I shouldn't make my decision for anyone but me, life shouldn't be lived for anyone but yourself and time shouldn't be wasted.

Mono...

Black and white is hot right now and the dressed up monochrome trend is making a big comeback. Spots and stripes are very popular with the occasional pop of colour to brighten up the blocks of dark and light. When channeling this trend think suit trousers teamed with block heels or dresses with sharp blazers.

However there's also the refreshing 2013 take on this timeless trend. Sweaters over jeans and loose fitting t-shirts. To make it up to date add a pop of colour when accessorising.

When looking for the best place to shop monochrome Zara has some lovely pieces whilst Topshop offers a more relaxed outlook with great pops of colour.

Lingerie

Lingerie

Developed a new love for expensive underwear, I am very sorry bank account but they are just too nice.

Especially when they are mimi Holiday from Damaris. This is there branch off for a more fun and younger look. The bright colours and fun prints coupled with the best fitting that I have ever had make them worth every penny.

My personal favourite however has to be the bottoms with the silk tie back bows. The cutest and prettiest pants I have seen for a while.

So they are worth the investment... To me anyway
