Berlin....

So I know I said that I would try and keep more on top of this blog but I ave recently been so busy. I managed to somehow blag an interview for a stylist position at All Saints. I know there is no way in hell that I will get the job, however I figured the experience at the interview would be good and give me more confidence in the future. So moving on....

My travels the second place that I visited was Berlin. It was the most amazing experience of my life. I fell in love with the city and it completely felt like home to me. If I could do anything with my life right this instant it would be move to Berlin and just walk around the endless streets taking in the atmosphere of the city. On arrival in Berlin I was pretty shocked, I am a history student so it probably should of occurred to me that the city had been rebuilt after War in 45. However I was expecting a quaint little German city. Instead I was greeted by huge buildings, long streets and very harsh corners. From the Brandenburg gate to the Berlin wall it was all over powering and spoke volumes for the history that Germany holds.

As a friend was already in Berlin when we arrived he recommended an area named Friedrichshain. This was a trendy area with lots of cool bars. One was called Palm Beach, in the style of a beach complete with sand covering the floor and amazing but cheap cocktails. We spent our first night sipping Pina Coladas in the smoky atmosphere. The second night we found an amazing club on the east side of town. White Trash, Fast Food. Words can not explain how much I fell in love with this place. The combination of live bands, friendly people and an amazing atmosphere made it worth visiting again on our return trip to Berlin.

The final experience that I feel I must share is my visit to Spree Park again in the East which I have decided is defiantly the place to be in Berlin. An abandoned theme park. In all fairness I did have to take on board the illicit illegal activity of breaking and entering, but so did the other 20 or so people we saw wondering around. The place was amazing but in an eerie way, the plants were twisting around the structures and the Ferris wheel rotated in the wind. Without a doubt it was my favorite experience of Berlin just because it was something that you can't do all the time.

There you go a whistle stop post on my time in Berlin, to me the most amazing place in the world.

Amsterdam..

Like I said in my previous post, I spent the month of July traveling around Europe. This involved many long hours on trains but in the most lots of laughing and amazing experiences. I went with my friend Faye and luckily we were on the same page throughout the Holiday.

After an extremely painful and long mega bus journey which involved us for the most starving we arrived on the other side of the Chanel in the Dutch paradise. Amsterdam is one of the cutest places I have ever visited, I've been a few times and everything is perfect and petite. The houses are traditional and the canals give the city the quirkiness which draw in the tourists. I'm sure that's not the only tourist attraction with weed and paying for sex being legal.

The red light district and many sex museums, peep shows and live sex shows are all kind of odd but in a funny way. The least I can say about Amsterdam's red light district is its a funny place and not something I really agree with, the many stag parties oogling the girls in windows drive my distaste. But like with many things its a choice and a way of earning money. I just personally wish I would have found the male version.

However although Amsterdam is famous for its laxed laws, there is plenty more that the city offers. From history to nice parks, boat rides to great nightlife. There is plenty to see and do. We were only there for a day but managed to fit a lot in. Everything to stroking a giant penis to relaxing with a cup of coffee.

Apoligies...

So I resigned to stop blogging a few months ago... But now I am back. Decided as well as looking at the what I am wearing angle, I would approach the lifestyle side of things as well. Considering that Manchester has so much to offer I think sharing my favorite bars, restaurants and things to do in the city.

A lot has changed in a few months...

A month of travelling around Europe I am feeling much enlightened. More so in the happy knowledge that I NEED to live in Berlin. The place is the mecca of the world, the coolest place I have ever been. With bars hidden in caves, underground and even boxers, I don't think there is anywhere I would rather be. All that I can compare it to is a much better London. With little areas like Freidrichshain that remind me of a hipster Notting Hill, abandoned theme parks like Spree and plenty of bikes roaming the streets. Other places that we visited were cool too, I will make a point of blogging about them all individually. After all a photo speaks a thousand words.

My hair, well I just got so bored of constantly dying the locks blonde they were dead and limp and just not doing it for me anymore. I went for a root stretch. This is where they take the colour of your roots and stretch it through your hair giving a dip dyed effect. I also had it all chopped off, it has since grown back. In a much more healthy state. I've also been experimenting with colour, Loreal do great toners my favourite being peach, they only last about a week so its fun if you want a temporary change of hair.

I discovered Rat and Boa. You should all check it out.

I got a new hole, my nose. Not as drastic as it sounds. I had my nose pierced after uhming and ahhhing for a year I went for it and I love it. I was meant to leave the stud in there for three months, however as impatient as I am I stuck a ring through it. I have to say it does look pretty awesome.

I'm not going to go on and bore you all with every tiny little thing so lets leave it there.

Glad to be back xox

Bank Holiday...

Kimono- Zara £39.99
Jeans- Topshop (Jamie)
Top- Primark £3.00
Shoes- Kurt Geiger

This past weekend it was the May Bank Holiday weekend. Therefor after settling into a new city center apartment for all of 12 hours we went off to celebrate. It was the Northern Quarter street party. The Northern Quarter is the trendiest and in that my favourite part of Manchester. It is jam packed full of bars and resturaunts combined with plenty of cute vintage shops. The perfect place to get a cocktail to sip on and watch the world go by. The street party was where the bars all joined together and put stalls selling alcohol everywhere. There was plenty of other things going on like dog shows and live music produced by the best DJ's in Manchester. It had a great atmosphere and everyone was enjoying the sun. Now living just 5 minutes away things like this are on my doorstep.
My outfit was inspired by the sun. Whilst it was shining I figured an all day event could get rather chilly. Therefor I went for the combination of Jeans and vest and threw this amazing Aztec Kimono over to add a bit of glamour. I had been eyeing it up for a while in Zara and finally caved into buying it after the inner fight I had been having with myself. The shoes are Kurt Geiger and they are a low stacked platform. I love the snake skin detail on them combined withe the buckles and suede heel. Being low they are so practical to wear everyday instead of just for a night out.

Travelling....

We were looking for some decorations for the flat and as I am going travelling in the summer with my best friend Faye we wanted to get a Globe. However we ended up walking past a shop with huge maps in the window. Me and Hannah just couldn't resist. We figured we could stick on all the places we visit and when i'm travelling she can move my head around Europe depending on where I am. I really want to travel the world and so am pretty happy that I found a map because it represents what I want in my future. The best part about our map was the cost £3.99 in the sale from a cut price book shop in the Arndale shopping center Manchester. We couldn't resist the combination of a bargain and a map.

New Flat....

I have a huge apology to make. I have had a hectic and stressful week since I have finally moved into my new apartment. I must say I am currently living like a queen in the heart of Manchester. Whats better is I am living only 5 minutes from the shops and my favorite places. The apartment itself is lush. I wasn't sure at first so was quite apprehensive about the move. However once we finally after 5 hours of back and forth trips into the sticks got our stuff in, I fell in love. Personally I think its the vintage rug that my Gran donated to the cause. We still have some stuff to do but already I am feeling the benefits of not living in a house with 6 other girls and a foreign student. So is my housemate Hannah, however not sure how impressed she will be featuring in the photograph below.

The living room will be perfect for parties as it is huge. It's cosy and the mega bonus is there is a balcony. Perfect for the recent excellent weather we have in Manchester right now. The best part is with only 2 of us it is easy to clean and we no longer live in filth. We still have some stuff to do with the decorating. I am currently planning on making a wall full of inspirational quotes but more important at the moment are my pending exams.

We obviously had to celebrate moving the posh way so cracked out the bottle of bubbly with the orange we had for breakfast. It was bank holiday therefore the bubbly was only the start of the madness on Sunday. The flowers were a present from my parents and a beautiful one. They came to help us with the move and were a great help.

As far as fragrance goes, I have found my perfect match. Although it is a little on the expensive side £64 for a large bottle. I have fallen in love with the rich fragrance of the perfume. It has notes of cinnamon but quite floral. Its hard to describe but in all the Westwood perfume gives off a sophisticated yet youth full smell. Perfect for someone in their 20's like me. I always prefer the rich fragrances as a post to fruity and flowery ones. I especially hate sweet smells and think they at times can be quite sickly and overpowering. I am more of a musk kind of girl. The bottle whilst being nothing special is quite sweet, small with a pink fragrance in. The tell all being the standard Vivienne Westwood orb that sits on top of it. You can purchase the perfume at Vivienne Westwood shops, Debenhams and House Of Fraser.

Summer Sun...

Dress- Topshop
Jeans- Topshop (Jamie)
Sandals- Zara

The recent good weather has meant that I have finally had a chance to wear the many summer dresses that have been sat in my wardrobe gathering dust. This particular one has been worn quite a few times recently. The pattern is great and its an easy going dress, whether I tuck it into jeans or wear it with a jacket as a dress.

Recycling..

Top- Vintage (via Gran)
Jeans- Topshop (Jamie)
Belt- Vintage (via Dad)

Today I have managed to recycle the fashion staples of two decades of Clark's, my dad and my Gran. Both unlikely sources of fashion but when put together manage to create a rather nice outfit. The shirt is a vintage silk, it's meant to be high necked but that wasn't really working for me today. Therefore I pulled the buttons open and folded back the collar. It has quite a cute nautical pattern to it with lots of tiny anchors dotted all over it. The sleeves I found a little annoying, they were quite puffy around the shoulder but personally i think this was due to the shirt being a little big. A few months ago I went through my grans wardrobe looking for vintage pieces and it didn't dissapoint. As a little girl I used to love playing dress up in all her old and fabulous heels. Pretend I was a princess or a rich lady for a few hours. Dress up is something I still have a passion for. However now it is done seriously rather than for fun, I spend most of my life worrying about what to wear rather than doing the other things such as uni work that will make me go places. Clothes it is without a doubt one of the major players in cheering me up when I am down perhaps that is why I spend so much time and money on shopping. Anyway I decided today for the jeans and shirt the relaxed yet smart option. I was only after all going to Nando's for a bit of tea. That was delicious, creamy mash is defiantly a luxury to the food world. The outfit was tied together with the vintage brown belt, which added definition to the whole outfit as well as breaking the elements apart.

Sunday Style..

Jumper-Zara
Dress (worn as top)- Topshop
Jeans- Topshop
Necklace- Topshop

Today I reworked a Zara split back jumper by wearing it backwards. It actually looked pretty cool with a chunky necklace over it and my paisley patterned top peaking through. Infact it was a day of reworking as the top is actually a slip dress from Topshop. It comes from the Boutique collection. This is a premium line you can find in most branches. Most of the dresses are real silk, a nightmare to was. But they all hang so nicely and are always really comfortable to wear. The boutique collection also features real wool and cottons as well as real leathers. However once you go Boutique you are unfortunately paying the premium prices that the high street does rarely offer. But who cares sometimes quality must be put forward to expenditure. I am loving the summer collection of boutique at Topshop, it has some really light and flirty dress which would be great in the summer sun as well as shirts and camis to keep summer cool. I have also noticed lately that they are starting to branch their colour pallet out from the dull colours that form the core of the collection to some bright shades in particular blue. I own a few of the Boutique dresses most black, so when buying this one I decided I should branch out and add a little colour to the silkier section of my wardrobe. It turns out that blue and white floral is actually just as wearable as plain black, who would of thought it. As pictured here it fits pretty well into jeans as a baggy camisole and also works under the jumper. Giving a relaxed Sunday look.

Glitter Gels....

I am trying to make an effort recently, well with my nails at least. Today I am wearing Barry M gelly nail polish in lilac. I love it, it gives your nails a great shiny quality and makes them look like the product of an expensive manicure. All for the price of £2.99 and for this you get much more than just one application. However I found it a bit boring today. I had the been there done this kind of feeling so decided to glitz it up a bit. Usually I just apply the glitter to one nail. Today I went for each and every finger, I went all out. You know what it doesn't even look tacky! The glitter is Rimmel glitterball. I got it to go over blues as it has purple blue and silver colours running through it. It fits perfectly over the purple and actually looks pretty classy. I did only apply one coat as not to overdo it. I can defiantly say that these are my favourite nails I have done so far and the products I would really recommend to anyone.

Summer fling....

Dress- Vintage (Via Cow)
Shoes- Jimmy Choo

Today me and Hannah got a flat, yes a bit of a shock for me too. Could't quite believe it when I was handing over my card details in a frenzy to secure it. Therefore the idea behind today's outfit was a sophisticated first time buyer. That and the Manchester sun decided to come out. What a rarity. So I donned a dress. My favourite, that doesn't see too much wear. It is a wrap one and therefore the most flattering outfit ever. It goes in in all the right places and is a perfect fit. Unfortunately it is a vintage find via Cow. It was also a bargain £14. Obviously others can not see the potential of a dress with flower pots on it. The shoes were not quite a bargain. I went to Cannes last summer for the film festival and Grand Prix. What can I say I wanted to channel the Cannes style and Jimmy Choos defiantly did this. The white cork heeled wedges were perfect for the easy glam that the wear so much on the south coast of France. They even come complete with a gold toe cap, making them the glamest pair of sandals I own. The white was also a draw as I thought it would look great with a tan, it is currently non existent. So today I am channeling a flirty fun and summery outfit, lets hope the weather stays in tact so there can be more of this.

Stripes...

Jumper- Zara
Boots- Topshop
Scarf- H&M

With exams looming and the need of revision becoming more and more important, me and my housemate decided today to procrastinate some more by popping off to the shops. OOOOPPPPSSS. With no money we barely shopped more like just walked around aimlessly  However I did get a few bits and pieces from Primark which I shall share with you all later. After I have actually managed to revise. We couldn't be bothered to get ready really so I just decided to throw this jumper on with some tights. It's a Zara special and is just really comfortable. To make it a bit glam I teamed it with tights and the trusty Topshop, Ambush boots. Yes I jumped on that band wagon last year. They are however the most uncomfortable pair of footwear in the world.
For now I am off to revise.

floral...

Dress-Topshop
Boots- Topshop
Belt- American Apparel

Topshop have a great sale at the moment, I managed to pick this dress up for £15 which is an absolute bargain considering it's from their Boutique range. I wouldn't have gone for it if it was expensive but with a price that cheap how can I resist. It's a dark floral printed pattern and matched my boots really well. I wore it for a night out in Manchester, wanted a casual outfit so this was perfect. I teamed the dress with fishnet tights and chunky boots.

Routine...

I hate wearing too much makeup in the day, purely for the reason that I like to look like I have made the effort on a night out. Therefore I keep my eyes subtle and just use mascara. The one must I continue with my everyday makeup is my eyebrows. I feel naked without them. Sometimes I go a little far and look kind of scouse but I like to have bold brows.
My foundation is Illamasque, I bought it a while ago and I will be buying it time and time again. It's a little on the expensive side but it is without a doubt the best foundation I have ever used. It stays where its meant to and is a great coverage. I use the base powder of the same brand over my foundation to set it in place. Bronzer is the Matte Bronze from Mac, it gives a lovely bronzed look without the added shimmer. I can't stand it when bronzer has glitter and shimmer in it, I think it looks so cheap and nasty. The blusher today is Benefits, Georgia, however I usually use Dandelion. Dandelion is a nice pink tone with an added bit of shimmer, not too much so it sits really well on the cheek.
As for the eyes, today I have Rimmel scandalous mascarra on and the brows are drawn in with the Rimmel mid brow pencil. I love the eyebrow pencil from Rimmel I have used  all sorts from Mac to Bobbi Brown but whilst high end is amazing for my face, it just didn't compare to the highstreet brand for eyebrows.

Peachy

I recently got given some of the Benefit, Georgia blusher. Apparently it would suit my pale skin. I don't quite know how i feel about it. The colour is kind of peach but it looks more like a setting powder than a blusher. I t does sit nice on the cheek but doesn't really enhance anything. The colour is far too light to make any type of statement but sometimes this is what you want. i do really like the pearly tones that run through it, kind of like a powder with shimmer so it does stand out a little on my cheek. Definatley more of a day wear type of colour as opposed to night time.

Glasses- Ebay

My glasses have finally arrived! I'm in love with them and don't care if I look a tiny bit pretentious by wearing them out. Today after a whole week of working nights I finally dressed normally and put makeup on. It felt so good to be back to myself and I finally feel like me again, a little tired though.
Me and my friend did go out for cocktails, however we were both shattered so a night out turned into arriving home at 12. We only made it out for 2 hours but who cares at least I now have a life. Its been a really nice day here in Manchester, unfortunately I managed to sleep through most of it after becoming nocturnal. So I decided to embrace the warm weather in a dress and sandals. The dress an Urban Outfitters sale bargain. Only cost me £10. I have had to wait till the sun comes out to wear it but at £10 who cares. It's bright colours cheer me up, the reds and oranges running through it compliment pale skin. Something I am a beholder of. With this sun though I may take up sunbeds to set off a tan. The shoes are wrap round sandals all the way from Zara in Cannes. They are last season but viewing the summer collections of Zara they have some really similar stuff coming through. If not similar there are some better ones there.

Dress- Urban Outfitters
Sandals- Zara
Hoody- Topman

Rimmel...

Who can resist a good offer? Not me in Superdrug at the moment if you spend £10 you get a free mascara. Considering I was already there to buy some nail polish, thought I would add a bit of lippy. I wanted some duck blue nail polish for a while and then I noticed there was a matching glitter so went for that too. I went a little over £10 by adding some appocolyps gloss. It's kind of like a glossy lipstick, so figured it would look a bit fresher than a block colour. As for the mascara it's ok, I can understand why it's on offer but it does make my lashes look natural. Not scandalous as it claims.

Cesty....

So this week I have been working through the night and sleeping all day. I now have the right to say working in retail is not an easy job. 9pm till 7am are not the kind of hours you want to be in work but I have to say it was kind of fun. A little bit. I decided as I was feeling so glum to paint my nails bright, opposing my mood. This cesty orange is from Barry M. I thought it was just a matte colour but it has a bit of shimmer to it. So I am not too keen on the colour. It is a bit odd having shimmering orange nails, they kind of remind me of a goldfish. As for the Barry M brand the colours are plenty and it's cheap and cheerful. Cheap being the prime word, the colours never seem to stick for long and it easily chips. It stays fresh for the first night and then looks tacky for days after, but in reality this is true of most nail polishes.

Update

Sorry guys, I know I haven't had an outfit date for a few days now but I am working through the night. I have literally not got out of leggings all week, I don't mean the fashionable kind I mean the plain ill fitting kind. Therefore I thought it unnecessary to put a photograph of me in a sorry state with an even more state of an outfit on here.
I don't want you all to think I hate leggings, I just find them quite boring. I think patterned ones are great and I am still undecided on the leather ones. I am more of a jeans and trousers type of girl.
Don't worry though I shall be back over the weekend with some great outfits for you to see and love.
For now though I have to go, got to hit the gym before another 9-6. That's the life...

Circles...

Shirt- Urban Outfitters
Skirt- American Apparel £38
Shoes- Topshop (Astrix) £40

Today I borrowed my housemates denim circle skirt from american apparel I was really impressed with it as it made me look tiny. It's a high waisted skirt and fans out so nips you in where your smallest. I really liked the shape and think that I will have to invest in one of my own. I wore it with a baggy shirt tucked in and some boots.

Bright Lights...

Jacket- Topshop £68
Vest- Asos £10
Jeans- Topshop £32
Boots- Topshop (Astrix) £40

A little splash of neon defiantly brightened up my otherwise dull outfit. I had a little meeting about my future today, hence the classy look. However I couldn't resist adding a splash of bright neon pink to brighten up my day. This structured jacket has been on my mind from the first time I saw it on the Topshop website. I love the hue and the fact that it looks luminous. It certainly makes me stand out whilst keeping the structure. I love the shape whilst it is not technically a fitted jacket it does have some structure to it. I have a bigger top half to my bottom half and I feeel that the jacket with the dropped arms makes my shoulders look more petite. Today I teamed it with some super skinny high waisted jeans and a plain black vest. I decided to let the jacket be the statement to my outfit so didn't add any jewelry. Afterall I was meeting someone for lunch so wanted to look a bit professional I think that it would look great with skirts and dresses for summer, especially in the sun the colour will be amazing.

Francais....

Top- Topshop £18
Jeans- Topshop (Jamie) £42
Necklace- Primark £4
Shoes- Chanel £370

Today I couldn't really be bothered I have had such a hectic rush around doing things for my ebay, MorganclarkMC. Working, getting on with some university work. So I just threw on an easy outfit of jeans and a vest. However I did feel a little guilty for defying my fashion morals so added a bit of parisian chic with some chanel ballet pumps. I'm not going to bore you all with anything more, tonight it's late and I am rather busy.

Royal Blues....

Top- Zara £29.99
Jeans- Topshop £42 (Jamie)
Boots- Topshop £40 (Astrix)

The best thing about today's outfit is you can buy it all as it is from the recent collections, this never usually happens. There is always something a little old so if you love it, quick get to the shops. So I am still relaxing and reviving in Northumbria, somehow I still have a very sore throat and tomorrow it is back to reality. I am quite excited to go back to Manchester, me and the big city have been apart for a whole week. I am not ashamed to say I miss the busy lifestyle and my comfortable bed. After a little luxury break with a spa date I feel like reality however much I love it may be biting hard. My outfit today is trying to channel a relaxed but quite mature vibe. For the past few days you will have noticed I have stepped away from my hippy vibe that I usually channel. It has been quite refreshing dressing a bit differently but I do miss my usual style. The jumper was bought by my mum, I love it. The shape is great, it's quite baggy and falls nice, I especially hate my arms and it covers them up. I also love the colours, I know it's boring but navy really suits me, I am quite pale so the navy brightens up the cream. The jeans are just my usual comfortable jeans. I used to be one of these girls that was all about leggings, then I realised like most that you could see my pants and unless you are having an off day they are simply not practical. Therefore I started buying more jeans and I have totally changed my tune, jeans are my new leggings. On my feet are my favourite boots of the moment they are featured heavily in my blog at the moment. I love the Astrix boots from Topshop, you can get them in Black, white and a grey marble. I got the black being practical but I love the marble ones and at £40 may soon treat myself to another pair. They are especially amazing for making you legs look long and therefore can double as a night and day boot.

Just thought I would have a little pose for you all. Happy Monday!

Tonight we opened my Grandad's Wine its a Bordeaux from 1997 so very old in wine terms. I was a bit upset as I would rather it be saved for a special occasion, but it's nice to drink it and remember him.  Love you Gramps.

Retreat...

After being ill all week I finally sucummed to the pressures of my parents trying to take me to the lodge in Northumbria, I know its a hard life. I've not been for ages but I had nothing better to do so I thought why not. It's on an estate attached to a snazzy hotel, therefor I made some effort with my outfit. Therefor I went for quite a tailored look with some black fitted short and a black blazer. I decided to break the black up with a chiffon camisole from Topshop. The camisole comes in a cropped style as well as the full length that I am wearing. It also comes in many colours from brights to pastels to prints. I dont usually do tailored as you can probably pick up from my posts my style is more indie and relaxed, but its nice to have a bit of a change up every so often.

Blazer- H&M
Top- Topshop £18
Shorts- Forever 21
Boots- Topshop (Astrix)
Necklace- Topshop

Just a little snap from inside the lodge looking rather lonely in the Jacuzzi.

Dot to Dot

Jumper- American Apparel
Trousers- H&M £9.99
Bag- Chanel 2.55
Housemate- ALL MINE

I suddenly feel like this blog is becoming an ode to H&M, what can I say i'm living on a student budget and it certainly has student prices. Now don't knock it but today's trousers are an old purchase, you can however still get multiple styles from patterned to plain still in store. My trousers are the dalmatian spot ones priced at £9.99. What a bargain they were and they have although so cheap stood the test of time, especially for how often I wear them. I like my bold patterns and print, i don't like to just wear any plain thing so when I saw the trousers I thought maybe then I saw the price and I ran to the till. Like in my recent knitwear post I sing the praises for H&M, the Swedish are defiantly fashion giants and this mega brand is no exception. The best thing is those items that you find and suddenly your face lights up as you realise how cheap they are. At first I was pensive of the trouser the base colour is a creamy yellow with black dots, I had no clue what to team them with. I started out with plain tops and moved on to jumpers when I soon realised that they could be matched up with so many existing items in my closet. Not only tops but shoes as well, they seem to match boots, converse ballet pumps you name it and it will go, I even one hungover day paired the trousers with bright pink Nike blazers, I know shocking. Even more shocking that it created a decent combination. That's why for a mere £9.99 they are one of my favourite items in my closet and I am sure they will be for a while.

Mellow in Yellow

Top- Villa £22
Jeans- Topshop Leigh £38
Boots- Topshop
Necklaces- Accsesorize

Please excuse what I look like, I have felt so ill all day and am currently channeling the looks of a frog considering my swollen glands. So today, considering I feel like death warmed up me and my Mum just went down to the local clothes shop and cafe. First of all we went to the cafe for coffee and cake, I had a scone with jam and cream. I don't know why I love scones so much considering that they are so boring but there is something about them, cherry scones are my personal favorite. After a treat we went to Pookie. I come from a small town where there is only a few shops, Pookie is a small boutique that sells a range of products from brands such as Villa, St Tropez and other small labels. It also occasionally stocks high priced designer products. Most of the stuff however is actually a decent price. Take my new top, photographed above, it was only £22 a bargain. The colour is a bright yellow so I thought it would be great for summer, its very vibrant and cheered me up. It's also quite versatile here I have it on with jeans but you could also get away with it as a very short dress, big knickers beneath. The shop is beautifully laid out, most of the products sold are for the more mature market, my mum absolutely loves it. I mostly go along for the immaculate decor and comfortable sofa, I somehow always manage to spend something there though.

A knit romance...

Recently H&M has been amazing me with its collection of knitwear for summer. It's so cheap the most expensive item I have recently bought was only £12.99 a great price for a long sleeved jumper. Other knitwear products that I am loving are the knitted vests, they come in a whole range of colours from dark's to lights to neon. The knitwear is all thin knit making them great transitional pieces to be brought into summer. They won't be too warm, the long sleeved jumper has already proved to be nice and cool when worn for a night out. I have no doubt that it will be a great piece in my European wardrobe for the summer evenings. The same applies for the knitted vests but for the day. Team them with shorts and sandals to tour the cities of Europe.
I also love the adaptability of the pieces. I have already said that the jumper I wore on a night out and whilst I have dressed the vests down a black skirt or shorts would create a great evening style. My style is quite bohemian and I do often go for comfort so these tops are perfect for me and so interchangeable. I'm sure I will feature them many more times styled in different ways.
Whilst I am on the subject of H&M I am so impressed with there recent collections. Whether it be the accessories, the shoes or the clothes. They offer all kinds of alternatives from the relaxed to the going out. There are so many pieces that I wish my bank balance could stretch to. Especially have so many pairs of printed trousers. Another step forward for the brand is their Eco range. Whilst I am not impressed with the pallet of colours the basic designs they have brought to the table with ethical methods are great. The floral shorts are my favourite piece.
I am looking forward to seeing the next move from H&M. After all they have had some amazing collaborations in the past and I am sure there are so many more to come.

Farming Girl...

De-Ja-Vu
Top- H&M £7.99
Jeans- Topshop Jamies £42
Necklaces- Accsesorize

So after forcing my housemate to come home to Yorkshire with me I dragged her all the way to Barnsley's top attraction, Cannon Hall Farm. Its a little farm just down the road from where I live where they have plenty of baby and fully grown animals. You even get the opportunity to pet some. The Goats were especially soft. As it's the Easter holiday's there were plenty of activities planned, sheep and ferret racing were by far the highlights of the day. Who knew that sheep could jump hurdles? Of course I backed the winning contenders claiming my allegence to the green team each time. Considering we were off to the farm, a place where children run riot, today's outfit was pretty casual. I just wore my comfy jeans and a knitted vest. Probably could of used something with longer sleeves in hindsight as it was freezing. I forget that Manchester is usually a million degrees warmer. The vest top is only £7.99 from H&M and yes I had the navy one on yesterday. I love the colour it's a vivid lime green and really goes well with my pale skin and blonde hair. I feel these tops were my bargain of the week purely because you can dress them up and down. Just team them with a skirt or shorts if your going out. I also think they are a great transitional piece into the summer as although they are knitted they are still vests. this means that they are not too hot for those sunny days, which I am sure are just around the corner. The Jeans are from Topshop. They are the Jamie jeans, skinny and high waisted. My favorite combination. The material is stretch so they are really comfortable jeans and so practical for any situation.

Closure....

So without wanting to turn this into a lame blog about all my personal feelings and torment, I thought I would tell you guys a little about tonight. So over the summer I fell out with my oldest and dearest friends there was a trigger but basically I went away to university and grew as a person. I became someone different, older and defiantly more mature. I just didn't fit with my old group anymore. There was nothing wrong with what happened, it was just hard to get used to. Without a doubt it led to some of my darkest days so much so that I felt the need to move back to Manchester. However there are still things connecting me to this group. Out of my darkest days, I have seen who my true friends are. One of the girls messaged me to meet up, I went why not. I am glad I did, it was nice to properly put to bed that chapter of my life. I talked to her about how I was made to feel. We both apologised for the things that had happened. Whilst I will always care about the people I used to love, it doesn't change my feelings on that they were not the right friends for me. I am glad I got the opportunity to talk and in the end we had a nice catch up about our lives. Now almost a year on we are completely different group of people, there is no way the damage done can be repaired and I know I don't want it to be. I know in the past year I have become a whole new person, a better one and someone for the first time in my life I can be proud of. I spent my life trying to please people who didn't appreciate the person I was and made me want to change myself. Now the friends I have love me for me and that's all I could ever asked for.
So my advice for everyone who reads this is that if anyone ever feels trapped or like they are pleasing others rather than themselves then you just need to let go. Even if your scared, you never know where life will take you. I needed a push to do this but I have never regretted that it happened and I doubt I ever will. I also think that closure is important, moving on comes easier and the past becomes a happy memory rather than a haunting dream.
So to old friends and new friends, I raise my glass and send out a toast. May the life you want be the life you lead.

Home...

Top- H&M £7.99
Jeans- Topshop
Boots- Topshop £40
Hat- Topshop £25

So today I am off home for a few days. Finally hot a while off work so figured I would get myself back to the countryside for a little r and r. Not going to lie my home town is anything but high fashion but I'm the type of person that likes to make a statement. Along with taking new friends home I'm meeting up with old ones that in the past have really hurt me. Therefor today I am doing as I always do and hiding behind my clothes. Without a doubt they are comforting and shopping always does cheer me up.
Today I am wearing a relaxed outfit after all I do have to sit in a car for the journey home. It consists of black skinny jeans my favourites from Topshop, I swear I do wash them. I have a new jumper vest on from H&M it was a bargain at £7.99 so I got the lime green version too. I love H&M at the moment so may have to do an entry on that in the near future. I love the basic items you can get there with their cheap price tags. I also brought the big guns out by investing in a hat. I am not usually a hat type of person unless its the Woolley variety. But this time I thought why not ill give it a go. Still not sure wether it suits me or not so opinions would be great. The hat is £25 from Topshop it's navy with an orange strip around it. The orange was the part that drew me to it really. I'm like a magpie but instead of being drawn in shine its bright colours that do it for me.
I'll keep you all updated of my little trip home.
